Prime Video premiered the new series "Neagley" on September 16, 2026, with all eight episodes of the first season available immediately to subscribers at no additional cost. The spin-off from the "Reacher" universe stars Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, a Chicago-based private investigator and former military protégé of Jack Reacher from the Army's 110th Special Investigations Unit.
The inaugural season follows Neagley as she assembles a team including Detective Hudson Riley (Greyston Holt), Renée Birdwhistle (Adeline Rudolph), and Keno (Jasper Jones) to investigate the death of her childhood friend Tommy Crane, which leads them to a cult led by Lawrence Cole (Damon Herriman) at Echo Canyon. Alan Ritchson makes a guest appearance as Jack Reacher, while other cast members include Peter Outerbridge as crime mastermind Arvid Rawlings and Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow of Invection Pharmaceuticals.
A central arc of the season involves Neagley confronting her haphephobia—a fear of touch—stemming from the loss of her father. The season finale features Neagley shaking hands with Reacher, a scene Sten identified as her "favorite moment" of the series. "I think it really is so pivotal and shows so much courage," Sten said in an interview. "She's been through the wringer and so much has happened to her. She's lost her father at this point and has to really create a new life for herself."
The new characters in the spin-off do not appear in Lee Child's Reacher book series, allowing the cast creative license while maintaining the tone of the established universe. Greyston Holt noted: "Ultimately, we wanted to honor the tone and the Reacher world, but our characters don't exist in the books. So I think we had a little bit of creative license to make them completely our own, but with still honoring the world."
All eight episodes premiered simultaneously at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT. Prime Video subscribers can stream the series at no additional cost; those without a subscription can start with a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, which includes Prime Video access.

Why This Matters
Prime Video expanded its streaming library with simultaneous release of a full eight-episode season, offering free access to existing subscribers without additional cost. The strategy affects content consumption patterns for the platform's subscriber base and tests market appetite for spin-off series outside the core Reacher books. The handshake finale scene between Neagley and Reacher character marks a specific narrative resolution that actors identified as central to the protagonist's character arc.
