Two young men were killed in a road accident in Jalandhar, Punjab in the early hours of November 1 when their Volkswagen car collided with a parked municipal garbage trolley on a flyover near the Police Lines area. The deceased were identified as Divit Auluck, 18, son of Dinesh Auluck (owner of Punjabi music company Speed Records), and Aarav Talwar, son of a sweet shop owner. Both were returning from a birthday party with three other friends in the vehicle; the other three passengers had already left the car before the collision.
Divit Auluck was the nephew of rapper and singer Honey Singh. Following the accident, Honey Singh posted on Instagram: "It's a dark decade for me. Loss of my nephew is devastating. Bhole nath mehr mehr mehr." He arrived in Jalandhar from Dubai on November 2 to offer condolences to his family. The collision raised questions about safety measures on the flyover, including the placement of the trolley and the presence of reflective warning markers.
The Punjabi music industry mourned the loss of the young man. Prominent artists including Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, Shehnaz Gill, Sargun Mehta, Jazzy B, and others visited the Auluck family home to express condolences. Aarav Talwar's last rites were conducted on November 1, while Divit Auluck's final rites were held on November 2 in Jalandhar, with his family reportedly waiting for his brother to arrive from Canada before the ceremony. Speed Records, the company owned by Divit's father, has been a significant player in the Punjabi music industry and has worked with major artists including Diljit Dosanjh, Honey Singh, Karan Aujla, and Satinder Sartaaj.
