Mayawati Holds Strategic Meeting with OBC Leaders for 2027 Uttar Pradesh Elections

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati convened a high-level organizational review meeting in Lucknow on June 17, 2026, to prepare for the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The meeting focused on strengthening the party's support base among the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community, which has historically backed the BSP.

During the meeting, Mayawati directed party leaders to intensify grassroots campaigning and effectively communicate BSP's policies, programs, and achievements to OBC voters. She expressed confidence that the OBC community would once again provide historic support to the party, similar to the 2007 elections. She emphasized that the true interests, respect, and welfare of the OBC community are best safeguarded under BSP.

Mayawati claimed that after years of experimenting with various opposition governments, the public has now seen the reality clearly. She asserted that BSP's role in the development and upliftment of both Dalit and OBC communities has been historic, and the party has been the most effective in promoting social, political, and economic progress.

As part of its election strategy, BSP is organizing a major rally in Faizabad on June 22, which is expected to be attended by several senior leaders and office bearers. Political analysts believe the rally could be a significant step in strengthening the party's presence in the Purvanchal region. BSP state chief has also confirmed that the party will not form an alliance with any other political group for the upcoming elections.

Party insiders indicate that the rally aims to accelerate ground-level preparations and connect with the local populace. Discussions are expected to cover organizational strengthening and electoral strategy. In recent weeks, BSP has also been reinforcing its outreach through Dalit-OBC unity committees.
