Trump administration reverses decision to dismantle ocean monitoring network after Senate opposition

The Trump administration has reversed its decision to shut down the Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI), a federally supported network of ocean monitoring systems, following significant political opposition and a Senate vote against the closure.
