Specialists at the Urals Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) are expanding the strike capabilities of the Forpost reconnaissance/strike unmanned aerial vehicle system through comprehensive testing of various munitions types. The initiative was announced by company representative Yekaterina Zgirovskaya at the Belarus 2026 International Security Exhibition on June 19.
The development effort focuses on improving the tactical and technical characteristics of the system while emphasizing unification with standard munitions, ranging from small-size glide bombs to anti-tank missiles. The Forpost-RE export modification is designed to conduct round-the-clock aerial surveillance and strike missions, featuring a 9-meter wingspan and maximum take-off weight of 490 kilograms. The UAV system can operate up to 200 kilometers from a ground control station and reach altitudes exceeding 4,000 meters.
The Forpost platform supports multiple payload configurations, including optoelectronic stations for reconnaissance and laser target acquisition, multi-functional radar systems, relay equipment, and strike systems comprising missiles and guided glide bombs mounted on underwing pylons. This modular approach allows operators to configure the UAV for specific mission requirements, whether reconnaissance-focused or strike-oriented. The continued development and testing program reflects UZGA's commitment to enhancing the system's operational flexibility and combat effectiveness for both domestic and export customers.
