36-year-old cyclist dies after falling into stream near Piding, Germany

A 36-year-old local cyclist died early Friday morning after falling into a streambed near Piding in Bavaria, close to the Salzburg border. The man was riding on a forest road east of the Piding dairy works around the level of the Aubach stream on Thursday evening between 21:30 and midnight when he veered left off the path and fell into the deeper streambed below.

Emergency responders, including residents and first responders, immediately began resuscitation efforts after the man was found shortly after midnight. A paramedic and rescue service team arrived at the scene, but could only confirm the man's death. The Piding volunteer fire department deployed twelve personnel and two vehicles to illuminate the accident site and support rescue operations. The bicycle sustained no visible damage.
