The update expands several existing features to new regions and devices. Google Photos conversational editing, previously limited, is now available on Pixel 6 and newer devices and expanding to France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Voice Translate support has been added to the Pixel 10a, while Manual Call Screen is expanding to India on Pixel 6 and newer models. Quick Share with AirDrop compatibility is rolling out globally to Pixel 8a and Pixel 9a devices. Magic Cue, which provides contextual suggestions in messaging applications, will arrive on additional messaging apps in the coming weeks.
On the Pixel Watch, the update introduces Emergency Detection integration with customized notifications across three core safety features: Fall Detection on all Pixel Watch models, Loss of Pulse Detection on Pixel Watch 3 and 4, and Car Crash Detection on Pixel Watch 2, 3, and 4. Additionally, the Take a Message feature, which was introduced the previous year to help manage missed or declined calls with real-time transcripts and AI-generated follow-ups on Pixel 6 and newer, is expanding to new markets and introducing a Custom Greeting feature that allows users to record personalized outgoing messages.
Why This Matters
This update significantly enhances AI-assisted creativity and safety on Google's flagship devices. Users gain access to advanced tools for video and music creation, improved cross-region support for productivity features, and critical emergency detection capabilities on smartwatches—directly improving device utility, accessibility, and personal safety across diverse markets.
