Moscow’s Vnukovo airport has resumed normal operations after restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures were lifted, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency said on Wednesday. Domodedovo airport, also in the capital, is continuing to handle flights by prior coordination with the relevant authorities.
Rosaviatsiya said the change at Domodedovo is tied to an adjustment of temporary restrictions on airspace use in the area around the airport. The agency did not provide further details on how long the limitations would remain in place.
Several other airports across central and western Russia remained under restrictions and were not accepting or dispatching flights at the time of the announcement, including Yaroslavl, Kazan, Bugulma, Kaluga, Nizhnekamsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Zhukovsky.

Why This Matters
Travelers and airlines should expect uneven operations across Moscow and parts of central and western Russia: one airport has reopened, another is still running under clearance-only conditions, and several regional airports remain restricted. This means passengers may still face delays, rerouting, or cancellations, so they should verify flight status directly with airlines and airports before traveling and allow extra time for changes.
