Piers Morgan's digital media venture, Uncensored, has completed a $27 million funding round to transform the platform from a single YouTube channel into a diversified global media network. The investment round, which values the company at $145 million, was led by Raine Ventures and Antenna Group, with additional backing from investors Simon and David Reuben and Elisabeth Murdoch. The funding marks a significant milestone for the company, which currently operates the flagship Piers Morgan Uncensored YouTube channel with 4.43 million subscribers.
The capital will support the launch and scaling of new talent-driven audio and video channels, live events, and subscription products. Uncensored's current programming includes "World Cup Uncensored" featuring Morgan alongside former Crystal Palace Chairman Simon Jordan and ex-England captain John Terry, "The Royals Uncensored" hosted by journalists Katie Nicholl and Jo Elvin with former royal butler Grant Harrold, and "History Uncensored" hosted by former CNN anchor Bianca Nobilo. The company has also established partnerships with Paramount UK's Channel 5 to broadcast its content on traditional television and with Time Studios for a new long-form interview series.
As part of the investment, Uncensored has entered into a content licensing partnership with Antenna Group, which reaches more than 500 million people worldwide through its media assets and partnerships across Europe, North America, and Australia. This arrangement will facilitate the expansion of Uncensored's programming into international markets. Morgan founded Uncensored after departing from Rupert Murdoch's Talk TV in 2025.
Piers Morgan stated that the company's ambition is to "build a truly global media platform for smart, compelling, high-engagement content that resonates with audiences worldwide." Rashida Jones, CEO of Uncensored and former MS NOW chief, emphasized that the investment would "turbocharge" the company's growth and enable it to build "a diversified, scalable platform capable of generating sustainable growth across multiple revenue channels." Morgan added that the media industry's recent transformation has positioned Uncensored uniquely to help "redefine that landscape and establish Uncensored as one of the world's most influential media companies."
Why This Matters
This funding round signals a major shift in digital media economics, demonstrating investor confidence in personality-driven platforms that can diversify revenue streams beyond ad-supported video. For media professionals and entrepreneurs, Uncensored's $145 million valuation and strategic partnerships with traditional broadcasters (Paramount UK's Channel 5) and premium producers (Time Studios) offer a blueprint for converting YouTube success into sustainable, multi-channel media businesses. The Antenna Group partnership's 500 million-person reach underscores the growing consolidation of digital distribution, which could reshape how independent creators access international markets.
