Hilary Duff's 'Luck...Or Something' Named One of 2026's Best Albums by Rolling Stone

Hilary Duff, the 38-year-old actress and singer who rose to fame as the star of Disney Channel's 'Lizzie McGuire,' has made a musical comeback with her new album 'Luck...Or Something,' which has been named one of the best albums of 2026 by Rolling Stone. Released in February, the album marks Duff's first new music in over a decade and has earned a spot on the magazine's list of 'The Best Albums of 2026 So Far.'

The album was made with her husband, Matthew Koma, with whom she shares three of her four children. Rolling Stone described the record as 'the sparkly synth-pop surprise we didn't know we needed so badly,' adding that it offers 'a realistic and vulnerable glimpse at where her life is now.'

Duff's career began with her role as the titular character on 'Lizzie McGuire' from 2001 to 2004, before transitioning to film with hits like 'Cheaper by the Dozen' and 'A Cinderella Story.' She later returned to television in series such as 'Younger' and Hulu's 'How I Met Your Father.' Her musical journey began with the 2002 Christmas album 'Santa Claus Lane,' followed by the four-times platinum 'Metamorphosis' in 2003, which featured the hit single 'Come Clean' — later used as the theme for MTV's 'Laguna Beach.' She released several more albums, including a self-titled effort in 2004 and 'Breath In. Breathe Out.' in 2015.

After an 11-year hiatus from music, Duff returned with 'Luck...Or Something,' a project she described as deeply personal. In a 2025 interview with Variety, she explained, 'I never wanted to jump the gun and do something that didn't totally feel right.' She added, 'People have been following my career and having a connection, and I think I was just really ready to reintroduce myself to them.'
