Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 Crosses Rs 318 Crore Globally in Three Days

Jailer 2, the sequel to Rajinikanth's 2023 hit Jailer, has achieved a landmark box office milestone by crossing Rs 318 crore in global collections within three days of its October 15 release. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 59.70 crore net in India on day one, Rs 37.10 crore on day two, and Rs 47.25 crore on day three, bringing its India net collection to Rs 144.60 crore. On day four (Sunday, October 18), the film collected Rs 40.61 crore net in India, raising the total India net collection to Rs 184.66 crore with India gross reaching Rs 216.92 crore. The film's overseas markets contributed Rs 147.50 crore gross in the first three days, demonstrating exceptional international appeal across markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Gulf nations, Australia, and Malaysia.

The Tamil version remains the primary driver of collections, accounting for Rs 133.17 crore of the India net total. The Telugu version has contributed Rs 35.23 crore, Hindi Rs 15.11 crore, and Kannada Rs 1.15 crore. On day three alone, Tamil accounted for Rs 34.6 crore net across 7,802 shows, while Telugu collected Rs 8.50 crore from 2,100 shows. The film's strong performance across multiple language versions underscores its broad regional appeal.

Jailer 2 has already surpassed the original Jailer's opening four-day benchmark of Rs 306.35 crore worldwide within its first three days. Trade analysts project the film will cross the Rs 400 crore worldwide mark during its four-day opening weekend. The sequel has entered the Rs 300 crore worldwide club and become the second-highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026 to date. Director Nelson Dilipkumar's action thriller, featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander and a supporting cast including Mohanlal, Hrithik Roshan, Vidya Balan, and S. J. Suryah, has received positive critical reviews praising Rajinikanth's screen presence and the film's mass appeal elements.

The film's performance in Hindi markets is noteworthy given its limited presence in major multiplex chains. It collected Rs 4.21 crore net on day four across 3,773 shows. Industry observers note that sustained weekend momentum and lower day-to-day drop rates position Jailer 2 as a potential blockbuster for its lifetime run, though final figures depend on how well the film performs in the coming weeks against competing releases including Drishyam 3, Prahaar, and Street Fighter.
