UVZ Group Unveils DT-3PM Lightweight All-Terrain Vehicle at Ufa Forum

The Vityaz engineering company, part of the Uralvagonzavod Group (UVZ) under Russia's state tech corporation Rostec, has unveiled a prototype of the DT-3PM tracked all-terrain vehicle at the 34th International Exhibition 'Gas. Oil. Technologies' in Ufa. The lightweight two-link vehicle has successfully completed state trials and represents a new addition to the Vityaz all-terrain vehicle family.

The DT-3PM is designed as a universal platform capable of supporting a wide range of equipment and applications. Its modular base chassis can accommodate mini-excavators, manipulators, living quarters, passenger cabins, welding systems, and various technological equipment. This flexibility makes it suitable for both military and civilian sectors, with particular emphasis on applications in the fuel and energy industry, rescue operations, and repair services operating in extreme conditions across Russia's remote regions including the Arctic, Siberia, and the Far East.

The vehicle combines advanced engineering with practical specifications for demanding environments. It features a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, multifuel diesel engine producing 312 horsepower paired with a 6-speed automatic hydromechanical transmission with locking differential. The DT-3PM can carry up to 3.5 tons of cargo or transport up to 17 people, achieving speeds of up to 50 km/h on land and 5 km/h on water. It can traverse walls up to one meter high and cross trenches up to three meters wide, while maintaining minimal ground pressure—a critical feature for Arctic and Siberian terrain.

The vehicle's operational capabilities extend across extreme temperature ranges from minus 50 to plus 45 degrees Celsius, addressing the specific needs of Russia's hard-to-reach regions. According to Uralvagonzavod Deputy CEO for civilian products Andrey Abakumov, the DT-3PM represents a synthesis of engineering solutions from the company's larger vehicles, scaled into a lightweight, maneuverable platform. The dual-purpose design aims to serve both military and civilian sectors, particularly companies operating in challenging environments where specialized all-terrain capability is essential.
