INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Angel Reese posted 21 points and 11 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season, leading the Atlanta Dream to a 108-101 victory over the Indiana Fever on Thursday night. All five Dream starters scored at least 16 points, with Jordin Canada adding 18, Naz Hillmon and Allisha Gray each scoring 17, and Rhyne Howard contributing 16. The win improved Atlanta to 10-4, while Indiana fell to 9-6.
Indiana's Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell each scored 26 points to lead the Fever. Aliyah Boston finished with 23 points and eight rebounds, missing her fifth consecutive double-double. Mitchell also became the eighth player in WNBA history to reach 700 career 3-pointers. Atlanta built a 13-point lead in the second half, but Indiana rallied with a 9-0 run in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 93-93 on a layup by Sophie Cunningham with 5:07 remaining. Mitchell scored the first seven points of that run, including her milestone three.
Atlanta regained control by capitalizing on Indiana's 17th turnover, converting a fast-break layup for a 99-95 lead with 2:08 left. Howard then scored on consecutive possessions to stretch the margin to 103-97. Reese sealed the game with a three-point play — a layup and free throw — with 23.1 seconds remaining. Reese played the entire second half without a foul after being called for four in the first half; she went to the bench with 5:45 left in the second quarter, but Atlanta responded by outscoring Indiana 19-11 to take a 58-49 halftime lead.
Clark debuted her new signature shoe, the "Caitlin 1," announced by Nike the previous day for release this fall. She wore racer blue shoes with her initials on the tongue. However, her playing time was limited after she picked up her fifth foul with 8:41 left in the fourth quarter. Clark returned at the 3:28 mark with Indiana trailing 95-93 but did not attempt a shot and finished scoreless in the frame. "I think even yesterday, like knowing I was going to post that early in the morning, I didn't sleep very well because I was just so excited," Clark said before the game. She shot 8 of 17 from the floor, including two 3-pointers. The two teams will meet again in Atlanta on Saturday.

Why This Matters
This game highlights the Dream's balanced scoring and defensive resilience, with all five starters scoring 16-plus points and a key 9-0 rally to overcome a fourth-quarter deficit. For fantasy basketball and WNBA fans, it signals that Atlanta (10-4) is a serious contender, while Indiana (9-6) must tighten its turnover issues (17) and foul management. Caitlin Clark's highly anticipated signature shoe debut adds cultural and commercial significance beyond the game.
