Mie Borup and Adam Nylin have ended their relationship five months after becoming a couple on a trip to Thailand, with both acknowledging that their differences in energy, humor, values, and approach to relationships were too great to overcome.
Borup revealed to SE og HØR that she was the one who ultimately made the decision to end things, though she said both had seen it coming. The pair had initially connected on the reality show 'Kærlighed ved første blik' (Love at First Sight) in Sicily, but faced reality upon returning to Denmark.
"We go our separate ways five months after becoming boyfriend and girlfriend. We find out we are too different - different energies, very different humour, different values, different ways of being in a relationship. We really gave it a try, and really tried, but the differences were too great, unfortunately," Borup said.
The breakup came just as the program began airing, bringing old emotions to the surface. "It has been quite difficult to watch. Some of the things he says and does in the sync surprise me. They are things I don't get told," she said, but added she has tried to view it with "gentle eyes" toward both herself and Adam.
Despite the split, Borup insists she does not regret giving her final rose to Adam on the show. "It was the right thing at the time. There was no one else who should have had that rose but Adam," she stated. She has not yet found new love and says she currently needs time to "land" after the Sicily adventure.
