Vorcaro organized luxury lunch for STF minister Moraes with premium wines and haute cuisine

Daniel Vorcaro, the former owner of Banco Master, organized an elaborate meal for Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes on December 30, 2023, at the Six Senses Botanique hotel in Campos do Jordão, São Paulo. Messages extracted from Vorcaro's mobile phone by federal police reveal detailed planning of the event, which featured caviar, scallops with salmon roe, truffle egg, foie gras with banana, dry-aged beef, wagyu, and white truffles. Vorcaro did not attend the lunch but micromanaged every aspect, including the selection of five premium wine bottles—La Tâche, Haut-Brion, Château Mouton Rothschild, and Château Cheval Blanc—costing tens of thousands of reais per unit, which he instructed should be gifted to Moraes if unopened.

Chef José Maria Meira, identified in Vorcaro's contacts as "Zé Maria Chef Iate Clube" and described publicly as a "VIP consultant for luxury experiential events," received detailed instructions three days before the lunch. Vorcaro expressed concern that displaying caviar tins on the table appeared ostentatious, directing the chef to present them only during service. In messages, Vorcaro instructed the chef to avoid mentioning his name to prevent embarrassment to the "principal guest," framing the occasion as belonging entirely to Moraes. The event was arranged through former Communications Minister Fábio Faria during the Jair Bolsonaro administration, with Moraes selecting the date and bringing nine staff members plus four security personnel.

A photograph emerged showing Moraes with Chef Meira, taken despite Vorcaro's apparent displeasure when informed the chef had exchanged contact details with the minister. One of Vorcaro's employees reported that the chef "could not say no to the minister," and Vorcaro responded that if Moraes had requested the photos, the matter was acceptable. The lunch lasted approximately four hours.

One month later, in January 2024, Vorcaro signed a contract with the law firm of Viviane Barci, Moraes' wife, for "strategic consultation" services valued at R$ 131 million over three years (some sources cite R$ 129.6 million over 36 monthly instalments of R$ 3.6 million). According to metadata, Moraes himself edited the contract document using a user account bearing his name. Fábio Faria stated in a note that he had recommended the Barci office for legal work in São Paulo and denied knowledge of the contract value. Viviane Barci's office has reiterated the legality of her work as Vorcaro's counsel.

The messages also document Moraes' auxiliary judge at the Supreme Court, Airton Vieira (a former appellate judge), attending the lunch and returning via Vorcaro's vehicle. Subsequent messages reference a dinner on February 2 involving Fábio Faria and his wife Patrícia Abravanel (daughter of television presenter Sílvio Santos), described as "3 couples." Vorcaro was reportedly involved with Martha Graeff at the time.

Neither Minister Moraes, Vorcaro's legal representatives, nor Chef José Maria Meira responded to media requests for comment.
