20-year-old motorcyclist dies after hitting loose cattle on SP highway during heavy rain

A 20-year-old motorcyclist died on the evening of Monday, June 22, after his motorcycle struck a loose bovine on State Highway SP-294 in Tupi Paulista, São Paulo. The collision occurred around 18:30 at kilometer 2 of the roadway during heavy rainfall. The rider was traveling from the municipality towards Comandante João Ribeiro de Barros Road when he struck the animal that was on the traffic lane. Emergency responders from the Dracena Fire Department arrived and transported the victim to the local emergency room, but he could not be saved despite receiving immediate medical care. The cow fled to a nearby pasture following the impact and was not located by police.

The Rodoviária Police responded to the incident after receiving a call from the scene. Support was provided by the Scientific Police and Eixo SP concession company, but traffic on the highway did not require closure. The investigation into the accident's circumstances has been taken over by the Civil Police, who are working to determine the precise causes.
