‘Stuart Fails to Save the Universe’ Trailer Reveals Multiverse Mayhem and Guest Stars

HBO Max has released the official trailer for “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,” the upcoming spinoff of “The Big Bang Theory,” offering a first look at the multiverse chaos that awaits comic book store owner Stuart Bloom. The trailer, unveiled on June 23, 2026, showcases alternate realities, including a Matrix-inspired world and a Mad Max-like dystopia, as Stuart accidentally triggers a multiverse Armageddon by breaking a device built by Sheldon and Leonard.

The ten-episode season will premiere on July 23, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Max, with new episodes rolling out weekly on Thursdays. The series centers on Stuart (Kevin Sussman) as he attempts to restore reality with the help of his girlfriend Denise (Lauren Lapkus), geologist friend Bert (Brian Posehn), and physicist Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie).

The trailer offers quick glimpses of familiar faces from the original series, including Christine Baranski (Beverly Hofstadter), Riki Lindhome (Ramona Nowitzki), and Teller (Larry Fowler). Jon Cryer also appears briefly in a kaleidoscope graphic. The series promises to introduce alternate-universe versions of beloved characters, keeping the spirit of the original show while exploring new comedic and sci-fi territory.

“Stuart Fails to Save the Universe” is co-created by Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady, and Zak Penn, with Lorre and Prady serving as executive producers alongside Kyle Newacheck, who directed multiple episodes. Produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, the spinoff marks the fourth entry in the “Big Bang Theory” franchise, following the original series, “Young Sheldon,” and “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.”
