E4 Nations Welcome US-Iran Peace Deal, Pledge Sanctions Relief

Leaders of Britain, France, Germany, and Italy have welcomed a major US-Iran peace agreement announced on Sunday, expressing readiness to lift sanctions contingent on verifiable Iranian steps regarding its nuclear program. In a joint statement, the European nations described the deal as "a moment of opportunity to restore regional stability and stabilize the global economy," while emphasizing that Iran "must never acquire a nuclear weapon." The leaders urged rapid and comprehensive implementation of the agreement, particularly the "urgent reopening of the Strait of Hormuz with unconditional and unrestricted freedom of navigation."

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the agreement on social media, confirming that intensive negotiations had concluded successfully. He indicated an official signing ceremony was scheduled for June 19 in Switzerland. US President Donald Trump subsequently confirmed the deal's completion on Truth Social, stating he was "fully authorizing" the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and authorizing "the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade."

The European signatories pledged to work closely with the US, Iran, and regional partners to maintain momentum toward a long-term diplomatic settlement. The deal represents a significant shift in US-Iran relations and aims to address longstanding tensions that have affected global energy markets and regional stability.
