China's Wang Yi to attend BRICS national security meeting in India

China's top diplomat Wang Yi will attend the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security in India on June 22-23, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday. Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, has been invited by India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to participate in the meeting. The gathering brings together senior national security officials from the BRICS nations—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—to discuss matters of mutual security concern. Wang's attendance underscores China's commitment to strengthening multilateral cooperation on security issues within the BRICS framework during India's tenure hosting the meeting.
