Quick Facts
- Launched Stengrönska alarm clock
- Features wireless phone charging
- Displays temperature and humidity readings
- Provides adjustable LED ambient lighting
- Supports up to three alarms with adjustable volume

IKEA has launched the Stengrönska, a multifunctional alarm clock that combines traditional timekeeping with wireless phone charging, environmental monitoring, and ambient lighting. The device measures 17 cm × 16 cm × 3.6 cm and is designed as a compact bedside platform. Its flat, wide form factor accommodates wireless charging on its top surface, while a USB-C port on the rear allows wired charging of a second device.
The clock features a display showing time in 12- or 24-hour format, date, day of the week, and real-time room temperature and humidity readings via built-in hygrometer and thermometer sensors. It supports up to three alarms with adjustable volume levels and a fixed nine-minute snooze function. An adjustable backlight aids readability in low light. Beneath the device, LED strip lighting with three brightness levels provides soft ambient illumination.
Power is supplied via USB-C cable, with optional AAA battery backup to preserve time and alarm settings during power outages, though batteries do not support full functionality. IKEA notes that phone charging may temporarily affect temperature readings. The clock incorporates at least 50% recycled ABS plastic in its construction, aligning with the company's sustainability practices.
Currently, the Stengrönska is available exclusively in Japan and China, priced at ¥4,999 (approximately $32 or £24) in Japan and ¥199 in China. IKEA has not confirmed global availability or a timeline for international release. The device is positioned as an alternative to smartphone-based alarms and time checking, marketed with the messaging: "less screen time — more well-being."
