Rockstar Reveals GTA 6 Cover Art, Confirms November 19 Release Date

Rockstar Games has officially unveiled the cover art for Grand Theft Auto VI and announced that pre-orders will begin on June 25, 2026. The cover retains the series' iconic block style, featuring protagonists Lucia and Jason against a sun-drenched Vice City backdrop with palm trees, a gator, and a boat. The game is slated for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The pre-order date carries significant weight because digital storefronts enforce a rule that pre-orders can only open when a game is within 12 months of its launch. With pre-orders set for June 25, that window firmly places the release date on November 19, making a third delay highly unlikely. The game has already been delayed twice—first from an original 2025 window to May 26, 2026, and then to the current November date.

Alongside the cover art, Rockstar released an updated story summary for GTA 6, which describes the narrative as follows: "When an easy score lands Jason and Lucia in a conspiracy stretching across the entire state of Leonida, the young criminal couple find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America – forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive." Eagle-eyed fans also spotted a new screenshot on the official pre-order page, showcasing a stunning sunset view of Vice City harbor.

The announcement marks the beginning of the game's summer marketing push. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had previously indicated that the marketing campaign would start in the summer, and he also suggested that a third trailer for GTA 6 would be released after pre-orders go live. The game, a direct sequel to 2013's Grand Theft Auto V—which has sold over 200 million copies—is one of the most highly anticipated titles in gaming history.
