MSC World Asia to Feature The Spiral, World's Largest At-Sea Dry Waterslide

MSC Cruzeiros has unveiled new images of The Spiral at Tree of Life, a major entertainment attraction aboard the MSC World Asia cruise ship. The dry waterslide, spanning 81.3 metres across 12 decks, will be the largest of its kind at sea when the vessel enters service. The structure stands approximately 9.7 metres high and weighs nearly eight tonnes, featuring over 150 metres of integrated LED lighting that creates varying visual effects throughout the day and evening.

Located at the heart of The Harbour, an open-air family park, The Spiral serves both as a functional transportation route connecting passengers directly to the World Promenade—an area featuring dining, entertainment, and ocean views—and as a major attraction for guests of all ages. An elevated walkway surrounds the structure, creating a visual landmark and gathering point for passengers as they explore the ship. The design draws inspiration from modern Asian cities and Singapore's iconic Supertrees at Marina Bay, reinforcing the World Asia's thematic identity.

After sunset, Tree of Life transforms into a key entertainment venue with scenic lighting, music, and activities designed for families and groups. This dual-function approach extends the appeal of the attraction throughout the day and night. The MSC World Asia is the third vessel in MSC Cruzeiros' World Class, a fleet known for innovative design combining European craftsmanship with global cultural influences and diverse amenities.

Currently under construction at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, the MSC World Asia is scheduled to begin operations on 4 December 2026. The vessel will initially operate seven-night Mediterranean itineraries visiting Barcelona, Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, and Valletta, offering passengers a combination of innovative experiences and traditional Mediterranean destinations.
