An audit report for the financial year 2024-25 has revealed that the Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Mamata Banerjee, holds substantial financial assets totaling over ₹876 crore, despite facing a significant electoral setback in the West Bengal assembly elections. The report, covering the period up to March 31, 2025, shows that the party maintains over ₹625 crore in various bank accounts and more than ₹250 crore in fixed deposits. Additionally, the party headquarters holds ₹50 crore in assets, and its central and regional offices have ₹31.28 lakh in cash reserves. These figures highlight the party's strong liquidity and financial resources, which are available for organizational activities, campaign operations, and other expenditures.

The audit report provides a comprehensive overview of the party's financial health, including cash holdings, bank balances, and fixed deposits, offering transparency into the scale of TMC's financial resources. The disclosure comes at a time when the party is navigating internal dissent following its defeat in the May 4 assembly elections, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 207 seats, reducing TMC to just 80 seats—a loss of 133 seats compared to the previous election. Mamata Banerjee herself lost both her constituencies to BJP's Suvendu Adhikari, triggering a period of rebellion within the party.
