Barrow Raiders have signed veteran prop Brad Singleton on a deal lasting until the end of the current season. The 33-year-old joins as a free agent following his departure from Castleford Tigers last month and will return to play for his hometown club.
Singleton brings considerable experience to the Championship club, having won the Grand Final with Leeds Rhinos in 2015. Since making his debut in 2011, he has accumulated more than 300 games, the vast majority played in Super League. His decision to join Barrow comes as he steps away from top-flight rugby.
The move reunites Singleton with head coach Paul Crarey, with whom he has maintained a strong working relationship. Singleton expressed his commitment to the club, stating that returning home with his family felt like the natural choice. "Barrow means a lot to me. I love the community, I love what the club stands for, and I know what rugby means to this town," he said.
Barrow Raiders currently sit third in the Championship standings with 12 wins from 15 matches. The club will next face Dewsbury Rams at home on Saturday at 18:00 BST.

Why This Matters
This signing demonstrates how established Super League players are increasingly willing to step down to the Championship for personal or professional reasons—in Singleton's case, returning to his hometown community. For Barrow Raiders, acquiring a 300+ game veteran with Grand Final experience strengthens their title push while third-place standing shows they are serious contenders. The move also reflects the growing fluidity of player movement between England's rugby league tiers.
