Real Madrid beats Sevilla 4-1 without suspended Vinicius Jr

Real Madrid defeated Sevilla 4-1 at the Estadio Bernabéu on October 18, 2026, in a La Liga match marked by clinical finishing and dominant possession. The hosts controlled 65% of possession and opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Arda Güler finished from close range following a counter-attack initiated by Jude Bellingham and continued by Yan Diomande. Kylian Mbappé doubled the lead in the 37th minute with a composed finish after receiving a heel pass from Bellingham inside the penalty area.

Mbappé added a third goal in the 63rd minute by converting a penalty kick with a Panenka chip after being fouled by Andrés Castrín in the penalty area. Sevilla reduced the deficit temporarily when Manu Bueno scored in the 80th minute. Yan Diomande sealed the victory two minutes later with a powerful strike from outside the penalty area, assisted by Aurélien Tchouaméni. The match saw Vinicius Jr absent due to a four-game suspension, with Endrick taking his place on the right flank.

Real Madrid's performance showcased strong tactical discipline and clinical conversion of opportunities. The victory keeps the defending champions within six points of FC Barcelona ahead of their first Clásico meeting of the season. Notably, Éder Militão made his return to action in the 85th minute after recovering from an injury sustained on April 21, receiving an ovation from the home crowd.
