Dune: Part Three Final Trailer Reveals Paul's Wife Chani in Plot Against Him

Warner Bros. released the final trailer for Dune: Part Three on October 27, 2026, showcasing the concluding chapter of Denis Villeneuve's science-fiction trilogy set nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. The trailer depicts Emperor Paul (Timothée Chalamet) confronting rebellion, political conspiracies, and the consequences of his holy war against the Great Houses. A central revelation is that Paul's wife Chani (Zendaya), a Fremen leader, becomes involved in a conspiracy to overthrow him, marking a major twist in the narrative.

The trailer features Robert Pattinson as Scytale, a Face Dancer and key antagonist, plotting Paul's downfall. According to the footage, Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh) warns Paul of an assassination attempt involving both Scytale and Chani. When questioned about betraying her husband, Chani affirms her commitment, stating "Fremen keep their word." The preview also shows Paul confessing his guilt to Hayt, a genetically engineered clone of his former mentor Duncan Idaho (Jason Momoa), admitting he has become the very evil Chani had vowed to fight. In a later scene, Chani and Paul embrace amid the desert chaos, suggesting emotional complexity beneath the political conflict. The trailer hints that Chani acts for the sake of their twin children, Leto II and Ghanima, while Paul claims to act for her.

The film adapts Frank Herbert's 1969 novel Dune Messiah and is scheduled for international release on December 16, 2026, followed by North American and IMAX release on December 18. Director Villeneuve has described the film as an epilogue to the first two instalments, emphasizing political thriller elements over action. The first two Dune films earned over $1.15 billion at the worldwide box office and received multiple Academy Award nominations. The ensemble cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, and Charlotte Rampling. Hans Zimmer composed the film's score. Dune: Part Three will compete at the box office with Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday, releasing the same day.
