Pop Mart, the Chinese-born designer toy retailer, has signed a lease for a 2,618 sq ft unit at Meadowhall, marking its debut in South Yorkshire. The store, located on the High Street upper level, will offer collectable toys featuring popular characters such as Labubu, Hello Kitty, and Disney. It joins fellow East Asian-inspired brands Miniso and Kenji at the shopping centre.
In addition to Pop Mart’s arrival, LEGO has relocated to a larger 4,561 sq ft store on Meadowhall’s lower mall High Street after 15 years at the venue. The expanded space will host product launches, interactive experiences, and special events. Meanwhile, clothing retailer Crew Clothing has opened a 2,000 sq ft unit on The Avenue’s lower level, featuring its coastal-inspired collections for women, men, and children.
Richard Crowther, retail leasing director at British Land, commented: “The addition of three powerhouse retailers to Meadowhall's retail mix, including a regional debut for Pop Mart and a significant upsize for LEGO, is indicative of sustained leasing demand here, and its reputation amongst the best brands as the region's prime retail destination.” He added that Crew Clothing’s presence on The Avenue reflects the centre’s strategy of placing the right brands in the right places as that part of the mall develops into a more premium shopping experience.
The trio of lettings signals continued retail growth at Meadowhall, reinforcing its position as a leading regional shopping destination.
