Toshihiko Tahara Performs Special Hit Medley and New Single on 'Tsurube's Great Songs'

Veteran entertainer Toshihiko Tahara, known as "Tosshi-chan" and "Tacky," delivered a dynamic performance featuring a specially curated hit medley and new material on the television program "Tsurube's Great Songs" (Tsurube no Ee Uta ya Naa). The performance showcased 65-year-old Tahara's enduring stage presence and vocal prowess, accompanied by four backup dancers executing intricate choreography.

The performance was divided into two parts. The first medley, "Special Hit Medley Part 1," compiled eight songs from Tahara's breakthrough era between 1980 and 1984, when he achieved 37 consecutive Oricon Top 10 entries. The segment opened with his debut single "Aishuu de Ito" (1980) and included memorable tracks such as "NINJIN Musume" (used on the Fuji Television program "Hirake! Ponkikki") and "Kanashimi 2 (Too) Young" (a Glico commercial theme). The second medley presented six later-era hits in rapid succession, including the theme song "Dakishimete TONIGHT" from the popular Fuji Television drama series "Teacher BinBin Story" (Kyoushi BinBin Monogatari), in which Tahara starred, along with his 2025 release "Life Is a Carnival."

Tahara also introduced his latest single, "Naniko Re Saikoo!!!" (What's This Amazing!!!), released this year as his 82nd single overall. The energetic performance demonstrated that Tahara's stage presence remains undiminished. The CD was scheduled for release on June 17, 2026. Tahara remarked that despite the playful title, the song authentically expresses his current state as a continuously evolving artist and has resonated strongly with his fanbase.
