Level99, a Natick-based social gaming venue operator, is opening its largest location yet at Disney Springs West Side in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, on June 29, 2026. Tickets for the 46,800 square foot venue went on sale on Monday, June 23, 2026. The Disney Springs location, first announced in February 2025, will feature 63 mini-games and physical challenges—more than any other Level99 venue to date—including signature attractions like the Axe Run, where players navigate a narrow beam while avoiding swinging foam axes.
Level99's gaming venues are designed to test players' physical and mental skills through a combination of individual and team-based competitions. Progress is tracked via RFID wristbands that players use to check into games and monitor their performance throughout the venue. The Disney Springs location represents a significant expansion for the company into one of the world's largest entertainment destinations, situated approximately seven miles from Magic Kingdom.
The company currently operates locations in Natick, Providence, and Tysons, Virginia, with additional venues under development in Hartford and Raleigh, North Carolina. Level99 was founded by Matthew DuPlessie, a Harvard Business School graduate, and is owned by Act III Holdings, a Miami-based investment firm operated by Ron Shaich, the founder of Panera Bread and co-founder of Au Bon Pain. In September 2025, Act III announced a $50 million investment to accelerate Level99's growth, with the firm actively negotiating for additional venues across more than 15 states.
Why This Matters
Level99's expansion into Disney Springs brings a unique, physically engaging entertainment option to one of the world's most visited tourist destinations. For visitors and locals alike, this venue offers a new way to experience group competition and immersive gaming, potentially redefining family and corporate outings in the Orlando area. The company's rapid growth, backed by a $50 million investment, signals a broader trend toward experiential entertainment that blends physical activity with social interaction.
