According to police reports, the incident occurred between 7 pm and 7:30 pm when she allegedly locked herself in her bedroom and hanged herself using a saree from a ceiling fan. Family members and local residents discovered her and rushed her to Vasai-Virar Municipal Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Assistant Police Inspector Vinod Bagh of Achole Police Station confirmed the details of the incident. On June 15, based on a complaint filed by her father, Machhindra Ugale, police registered an Accidental Death Report under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (Indian Civil Services Code). Police stated that the exact circumstances remain under investigation and that they are examining the case from all possible angles.
Ugale was a rising television and film actress who gained recognition for her role in the long-running television series Kumkum Bhagya. She also appeared in the 2024 film Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout. Despite her growing presence in the entertainment industry, she was still in the early stages of her career at just 22 years old. Notably, less than a day before her death, the actress posted a video on Instagram in which she appeared in peach-pink traditional attire, lip-syncing to the classic song Dafli Wale Dafli Baja.
