LeBron James drinks fan's wine during 76ers-Bulls game

Philadelphia 76ers forward LeBron James drank from a fan's red wine cup during the third quarter of a game against the Chicago Bulls on November 2, 2026. While chasing a loose ball, James went out of bounds and made contact with a courtside spectator. Before returning to play, the 41-year-old picked up the fan's wine cup and took a sip.

James later commented on the incident to reporters with humour. According to ESPN reporter Chris Rim, James said: "I bumped into him and spilled his wine. So I wanted to see if it was worth spilling. It was pretty good." In another account, James was quoted as saying he wanted to check "how delicious" the wine was. The fan, identified as Troy Clemons—a longtime season ticket holder who grew up with the sons of Hall of Famer Julius Erving—accepted the incident warmly, stating he was simply happy to have James on the team.

The incident occurred during a 76ers victory over the Bulls, 126–107. James contributed 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists. Throughout the game, James also displayed his enjoyment of play, including dancing after scoring and celebrating teammates' baskets. After the game, James reflected on maintaining engagement during a long season, saying: "This is a marathon. You have to find ways to have fun, especially at this stage of my career. Fans give us great energy, so we want to give them the best play and entertainment in return."
