Kobito Zukan Marks 20th Anniversary with Exclusive Seria Product Line

Kobito Zukan, the beloved illustrated book series created by Toshinaka Nabata, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026. To mark the occasion, the series makes its debut at Seria stores nationwide with three limited-edition merchandise items launching in mid-June 2026. The commemorative collection comprises a clear bookmark, an acrylic dog tag, and a mobile sticker, each priced at ¥110 (including tax). This represents Seria's first-ever exclusive merchandise collaboration with Kobito Zukan. Each item comes in a blind box format featuring 20 different designs, with one secret variant included in the collection.

Kobito Zukan, initially published in 2006, has grown into a cultural phenomenon with cumulative sales exceeding 3.2 million copies. The series follows the protagonist's discovery of mysterious creatures called "Kobitos"—beings that are neither insects nor plants—with 444 distinct species catalogued to date. The franchise has inspired a popular children's game called "Kobito hunting," captivating audiences across kindergartens, preschools, and elementary schools throughout Japan.

The merchandise will be available at all Seria locations nationwide from mid-June 2026 onwards, though some stores may have limited stock.
