Tatneft lifts fuel purchase limits on branded cards in Tatarstan

Russia's Tatneft has removed purchase restrictions on AI-92 petrol and diesel fuel sold through branded fuel cards in Tatarstan, according to local media reports. The company maintains a 30-litre limit only on AI-95 premium petrol, while unrestricted sales now apply to AI-92, diesel, and other fuel types purchased via fuel cards. The removal of limits comes after the company had introduced temporary restrictions on 15 June in response to elevated demand across multiple regions including Tatarstan, Udmurtia, and parts of the Volga region. The company also reported that payment terminal issues affecting cashless transactions have been resolved. A Tatneft representative previously stated that the temporary restrictions were implemented "to ensure equitable supply of customers during periods of increased load and to prevent artificial panic buying." The company attributed earlier payment processing problems to internet connectivity issues that have since been rectified. The June restrictions had affected fuel availability across Tatneft's network, with different limits applied depending on fuel type and vehicle class, including limits on truck diesel.
