Romeo Beckham to make acting debut in gay romance tennis film 'Forty Love'

Romeo Beckham, the 23-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham, is set to make his acting debut in the upcoming film "Forty Love," a romantic drama set in the world of professional tennis. The movie centers on a same-sex romance between two rival players, with Romeo portraying a charismatic young tennis star who captures the heart of the sport's reigning champion.

The first image from the production, released exclusively by Variety, shows Romeo in character on the tennis court. Until now, the younger Beckham had primarily worked as a high-fashion model for luxury brands such as Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga. Off-screen, he is in a relationship with British DJ and model Kim Turnbull.

Directed by photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti in his feature-film directorial debut, "Forty Love" boasts an ensemble cast that includes French actors Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet, and Benjamin Voisin, alongside legendary French actress Catherine Deneuve. The film is produced by Hugo Sélignac under his Chi-Fou-Mi Productions banner, in partnership with Studiocanal and Manna Studios.

The plot follows Sacha Gallo, a superstar tennis player who has been training with his father to win a major trophy in Paris. His world is turned upside down by the arrival of a charismatic rival—played by Romeo Beckham—who challenges everything Sacha thought he knew about competition, ambition, and himself. According to the film's synopsis, "For the first time, he faces an opponent of a completely different nature: love. A force as exciting as it is destabilizing—and far more dangerous than anything he has ever encountered on the court."

Producer Hugo Sélignac described the film as "a sensual, moving, and deeply touching romantic fable that tells a coming-of-age story with exceptional performances." "Forty Love" is scheduled for release in France on November 25, with no international release dates announced yet.
