Imperia differs from Trump's previous initiatives by focusing on direct economic investment and ownership rather than mentorship alone. "Now is our time to move beyond mentorship and toward ownership," she said, calling on participants to invest in one another, create real opportunities, and connect professional networks into tangible capital and business value. According to her adviser Marc Beckman, the initiative functions as an invitation-only network designed to connect female C-suite executives, move capital, influence policy, and facilitate cross-sector collaboration—described informally as "Davos for Women."
During a Fox & Friends appearance on the same day, Trump addressed her reduced public visibility compared to her husband's first term, attributing the difference to a focus on results rather than appearances. She highlighted ongoing work beyond Imperia, including efforts to reunite children separated from families by Russia's war in Ukraine—noting she had helped reunite five groups as of July through a "direct channel" with leaders from warring countries. Trump also previewed an upcoming two-part docuseries, distinct from her earlier Amazon documentary, featuring one-on-one conversations she described as including "private questions that people never heard before."
Imperia joins Trump's existing Be Best campaign against cyberbullying and her Fostering the Future initiative focused on youth in foster care. The first lady's adviser emphasized the initiative's aim to harness "collective strength" of influential female executives around a shared vision for economic empowerment.
