The Kalashnikov Group unveiled new fracture immobilization splints at the 1st International Security Forum in the Moscow Region on May 28, marking the public debut of the medical devices designed for emergency stabilization of fractures in combat environments. The splints, which are undergoing testing, are engineered to stabilize fractures of the upper and lower extremities as well as the cervical spine, with particular application for emergency use near combat lines and during troop evacuation.
The device features an aluminum plate that can be bent and adjusted to match the required anatomical shape of the patient. A key design feature allows medical personnel to maintain access to the neck area for emergency procedures such as tracheostomy when the cervical spine is immobilized, and the splint does not require removal during such interventions. According to Kalashnikov Group representatives, the product achieves full localization of manufacturing, utilizing entirely domestic components and production processes.
Following completion of testing and receipt of the necessary registration number, the splints are scheduled to be supplied to the special military operation zone. The International Security Forum, where the unveiling occurred, ran from May 26 to 29 under the auspices of the Russian Security Council.
