Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu Meets Sierra Leone Deputy Foreign Minister Ogali

On May 26, 2026, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with Sierra Leone Deputy Foreign Minister Ogali to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations.

Miao Deyu emphasized the longstanding friendship between China and Sierra Leone, noting that under the strategic guidance of both countries' leaders, the two nations have demonstrated unwavering mutual support, efficient collaboration in economic and social development, and close coordination on international affairs—exemplifying Chinese-African unity and cooperation. He expressed China's commitment to leveraging the occasion of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the "China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchange" to strengthen political trust, enhance cooperation, expand practical collaboration through zero-tariff policies, and advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Ogali expressed sincere gratitude for China's long-term support of Sierra Leone's economic and social development, particularly China's joint efforts with Sierra Leone in combating the Ebola epidemic. He reaffirmed Sierra Leone's adherence to the one-China principle and identified China as a priority partner.
