Musical 'Keroro Gunsou' Reveals Cast Visuals for Stage-Original 'Meta Keroro Squad'

The musical adaptation of Yoshizaki Masashi's manga 'Keroro Gunsou' has unveiled solo character visuals for 12 cast members, including the stage-original characters known as the 'Meta Keroro Squad.' The production, titled 'Pecoppon Invasion Musical Keroro Gunsou,' will run from September 18 to 27, 2026, at the Japan Youth Hall in Tokyo.

The Meta Keroro Squad consists of AI-generated characters created by the character Kururu's artificial intelligence system, nicknamed 'KI.' These characters represent perfect, efficient versions of the Keroro platoon members, contrasting sharply with the lazy lifestyle of the original Keroro squad. Tominaga Yuya portrays Meta Keroro Shousa (sergeant), Nakagawa Tsukimei plays Meta Tamama Nitouheishi (lance corporal), Tsuji Ryoushiro takes on Meta Giroro Gochoushou (corporal), Matsuda Gaku plays Meta Kururu Soushou (sergeant), and Matsui Kenta portrays Meta Dororo Heichou (private first class).

The musical features an original story written and directed by Kawashiri Keita from the theater unit SUGARBOY, with music by Yu (vague). The narrative follows the Keroro squad's adventures in a virtual world created by Kururu's AI system, where they encounter their Meta counterparts. The original cast includes Tamura Shougo as Keroro Shousa, Otomo Shiion as Tamama, and Noguchi Jun as Hinata Fuyuki, alongside supporting characters from the anime and manga. The production incorporates audience engagement features including photography sessions, post-show talk sessions titled 'Keroro Squad Strategy Meeting,' special curtain calls with merchandise support and audience participation, all scheduled for designated performances.
