Disney-themed Shinkansen begins service for Tokyo DisneySea 25th anniversary
JR Central began operating a Disney-themed Shinkansen on the Tokaido Shinkansen line on June 19 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Tokyo DisneySea. The train, decorated with Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters, attracted many fans to Nagoya Station. The service will continue until March 2027.

JR Central launched a specially designed Shinkansen train on the Tokaido Shinkansen line on June 19 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Tokyo DisneySea. The train, named "Sparkling Dreams Shinkansen," is wrapped with Disney characters including Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck wearing 25th-anniversary costumes. The 16-car N700A series train will primarily operate as Hikari and Kodama services.
Large crowds gathered at Nagoya Station early in the morning to catch a glimpse of the train as it departed at 6:45 a.m. Many fans took photos of the Disney-themed exterior and the custom head covers and stickers inside the cars named after Disney characters. The interior also features original designs to enhance the passenger experience.
The special train is expected to run until around March 2027, giving Disney fans ample time to ride or view the themed Shinkansen. JR Central hopes the collaboration will boost tourism and celebrate the milestone anniversary of the popular theme park.
