OPPO has announced the launch of its new smartphone, the Reno15 A, scheduled for June 25, 2026. The device will be available through multiple carriers including UQ mobile, Y!mobile, and Rakuten Mobile, as well as as a SIM-free model. The Reno15 A succeeds the popular Reno13 A and features a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution (2372×1080) capable of 120Hz refresh rates and supporting 1.07 billion colors.
The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and offers two memory configurations: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage priced at 64,800 yen, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage at 76,800 yen for the SIM-free model. Carrier pricing is more competitive, with UQ mobile offering it for 54,500 yen and Y!mobile for 48,960 yen. The device supports microSD card expansion up to 1TB and features RAM expansion technology that allocates storage space as additional memory.
A standout feature is the 7000mAh battery, which exceeds capacity found in most high-end devices. It supports rapid charging at up to 80W via OPPO's proprietary SUPERVOOC Flash Charge or 55W via PPS, and introduces bypass charging technology to the Reno A series, allowing power delivery without heat generation during use. The device meets IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance standards and IPX6 dust protection.
The camera system includes a triple rear setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and 2-megapixel macro sensor. The front-facing camera has been upgraded from the previous 32-megapixel to 50-megapixel with a 100-degree ultra-wide field of view. The device includes comprehensive AI features such as AI Mind Space for automatic information organization, AI Writer for composition assistance, screen translation, AI portrait enhancement, AI eraser for object removal, blur removal, and reflection removal capabilities.
Additional features include stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint and facial recognition, IPX8/IPX9 water resistance with IP6X dust protection, FeliCa support for mobile payments, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 5.1. The device supports dual SIM with either two nano-SIMs or nano-SIM plus eSIM. Available colors are Aurora Blue (75×158×8.3mm, 202g), Twilight Navy (75×158×8.1mm, 195g), and Afterglow Pink (75×158×8.1mm, 195g).
Why This Matters
The Reno15 A addresses key consumer priorities: its 7000mAh battery with 80W charging and bypass technology delivers extended daily use and heat-free operation during work—critical for power users and daily commuters. Comprehensive AI features for photo editing, text composition, and automatic organization directly enhance productivity for Japanese professionals. Competitive carrier pricing and SIM-free options expand accessibility, making premium specifications available at mid-range price points across multiple distribution channels.
