Sir Rod Stewart, 81, has canceled his remaining tour dates following a routine coronary stent procedure. His medical team confirmed the procedure was successful and that he is recovering well. On medical advice, he will take four weeks to recuperate before resuming performances.
Stewart had been performing his "One Last Time" farewell tour, which began in March 2025. The cancellations include multiple North American dates through September 2026, a six-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas scheduled for August 18–29, and performances in Mexico. Specific canceled dates include the Iowa State Fair (August 14), Kansas City (August 15), Minnesota State Fair Grandstand (September 1), and concerts in Michigan and Illinois.
The decision to cancel came after Stewart postponed his Cincinnati concert at Riverbend Music Center on Sunday, citing an "unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention." He had also canceled a Tuesday night performance at Rocket Arena in Cleveland. Earlier in 2026, he canceled additional dates in Las Vegas and San Diego.
A coronary artery stent is a small mesh tube placed during angioplasty to keep narrowed or blocked blood vessels open and prevent further narrowing. The procedure is considered minimally invasive and is used to treat coronary artery disease and heart emergencies. In his statement, Stewart expressed disappointment about missing the shows but thanked medical staff and said he looked forward to returning to the stage. Ticket holders will receive refunds through respective venues and promoters, with the Minnesota State Fair automatically processing refunds for credit card purchases and issuing mail refunds for cash or check payments.
Stewart has previously battled thyroid cancer in the early 2000s, which left him unable to sing for nine months, and prostate cancer in 2017. In June 2026, he experienced breathing difficulties during a performance that required an oxygen tank, and he canceled several shows in 2025 following a prolonged bout with the flu.
