CDA Orders Illegal Occupants to Vacate G-6 Flats in Islamabad Within Seven Days

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued seven-day eviction notices to illegal occupants of its residential flats in Sector G-6, Aabpara, Islamabad, citing multiple court orders. The notices, served this week, warn that the premises will be cleared without further warning if occupants fail to leave within the deadline.

According to the notice, the eviction drive is based on a judgment by the Islamabad High Court dated February 13, 2023, a Supreme Court order from June 1, 2023, and a subsequent order from July 30, 2025. The notices state that all individuals currently residing in the CDA flats at Aabpara have no legal entitlement to occupy the property.

The 200 flats were completed by the CDA in 2003 under a redevelopment scheme approved by the federal cabinet in 1998. Originally intended to replace outdated government quarters and provide secure accommodation for employees, the CDA planned to transfer the units to the housing ministry for allotment to government officials. However, the terms were not finalised before the 2005 earthquake, after which survivors and displaced families were temporarily accommodated there.

During the 2007 Lal Masjid operation, police personnel began occupying the flats and have remained there since, alongside other government employees and private individuals. A joint survey conducted by the CDA and the Estate Office found that a majority of the flats are now occupied by police personnel, with others held by CDA employees, federal department staff, and private individuals.

CDA spokesperson Shahid Kiani stated that the authority will handle the matter in accordance with applicable rules and regulations. He added that a review of the situation is underway, and further decisions will be made based on legal protocols.
