The Denver Nuggets mounted a dramatic comeback from a 23-point deficit to defeat the New Orleans Pelicans 141–135 in overtime on Saturday night. Nikola Jokic was the catalyst, scoring 35 points (12-of-23 field goals, 8-of-8 free throws) with 15 rebounds and 10 assists, including eight points in the extra period. Jamal Murray contributed 42 points, while rookie Trevon Brazile added 17 points, including a crucial corner three-pointer with 1:25 remaining in overtime that gave Denver a 133–129 lead.
The Pelicans shot 65.9% in the first half and led 73–57 at halftime, extending their advantage to 23 points. Denver's rally accelerated in the third quarter, when Jokic and Murray combined for 22 of the team's 32 points. The Nuggets closed the fourth-quarter deficit primarily through three-pointers from Murray and Jokic, plus a reverse dunk from Aaron Gordon. The game went to overtime tied, where Denver seized control early.
Jokic's triple-double was his 199th in regular-season play, second all-time behind Russell Westbrook's 209. For the Pelicans, Trey Murphy III led with 26 points, Dejounte Murray added 22, and both Derik Queen and Zion Williamson scored 17 each. New Orleans has now lost three consecutive games under first-year coach Jamahl Mosley.
The Nuggets played without Cam Johnson (ankle) and Alpha Diallo (sprained wrist), and continued absences of Julian Strawther and Spencer Jones. The Pelicans received positive news that center Yves Messi's knee injury suffered Friday in Utah is a contusion rather than a more severe injury.
After the game, Jokic criticized fan conduct during the first half. "We got booed at our first home game, and I think those fans who booed us, they don't need to come anymore," he said in the post-game press conference. He attributed the team's early struggles to "bad energy" but credited the Nuggets' resilience in recovering: "If you guys follow us, you know that we never quit and we've come back from much worse situations."

Why This Matters
The Nuggets' comeback from 23 points down and subsequent overtime victory demonstrates the team's ability to sustain competitive performance despite injuries to key rotation players (Cam Johnson, Alpha Diallo, Julian Strawther, Spencer Jones). Jokic's 199th career triple-double places him second all-time, affecting NBA historical records and season momentum; the Pelicans' third consecutive loss under first-year coach Jamahl Mosley affects playoff positioning and roster evaluation in a competitive Western Conference.
