Fleetwood Town Hosts Arsenal in League Cup Fourth Round

Fleetwood Town, a League Two club, hosted Premier League champions Arsenal in the Carabao Cup (English League Cup) fourth round on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, at 8pm in Fleetwood, England. The match represented Fleetwood's best-ever run in the competition after the club eliminated Chesterfield, Shrewsbury Town, and Sheffield United without conceding a goal in earlier rounds.

Fleetwood arrived at the fourth round with mixed form. In League Two, the club sat 18th following a 2-1 defeat to Exeter City on the Saturday prior to the cup tie. However, home form at Highbury Stadium had been strong, with just one loss in ten matches across all competitions. Arsenal, by contrast, were defending Premier League champions competing in multiple competitions including the UEFA Champions League.

The fixture marked a continuation of recent competitive history between the clubs. In their previous meeting in August 2026, Fleetwood defeated Arsenal 2-0. Across all competitions this season, Fleetwood had scored six goals against Arsenal, while the Gunners had scored four goals against the League Two side. For Fleetwood, victory would secure a quarter-final place and further historic achievement for the club. Betting predictions ahead of the match favoured Arsenal, with odds suggesting a high-scoring victory for the Premier League side.
