InnoTech Solutions, a Belarusian technology company, demonstrated its Scanner 2.1 acoustic locator system at the Belarus 2026 International Security Exhibition in Minsk. The system is designed to detect unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) operating in radio silence mode, according to company director Vitaly Batrak.
The Scanner 2.1 uses artificial intelligence software to identify various drone types, including those with internal combustion engines, FPV drones with electric motors, and 'Baba Yaga' class hexacopters. Batrak told TASS that the system has been successfully tested against modern drone types.
A single Scanner unit can detect a UAV and indicate its direction, while multiple interlinked units can triangulate a drone's exact location. The system can detect FPV drones at a range of about 350 meters and drones with internal combustion engines from 1.5 to 2 kilometers.
The demonstration took place at the ongoing security forum, highlighting the growing intersection of drone technology and counter-UAV systems in the region.

Why This Matters
This development is significant for readers involved in security, defense, or commercial counter-UAV solutions as it highlights a new low-cost, non-RF-based detection method that remains effective against drones operating in stealth mode. Organizations seeking to protect airspace from silent drones can consider acoustical detection as a complementary layer to radar and radio-frequency sensors.
