Canadian midfielder Ismaël Koné sustained a gruesome leg injury during Canada's 6-0 World Cup victory over Qatar on Thursday at BC Place in Vancouver, overshadowing the host nation's historic first World Cup win. In the 50th minute of the Group B match, Qatar midfielder Assim Madibo tackled Koné from behind, causing a severe lower leg injury that left the 24-year-old in immediate pain.
