Club Brugge defeats Inter Milan 4-3 with Tresoldi hat-trick in Champions League

Club Brugge secured a stunning 4-3 Champions League victory over Inter Milan on October 13, 2026, with Italian forward Nicolò Tresoldi scoring a hat-trick at the San Siro stadium. The match featured dramatic swings in momentum, with Tresoldi's three goals proving decisive despite Inter's late push to salvage the result.

Tresoldi opened the scoring from a penalty in the 30th minute after Hakan Calhanoglu fouled Carlos Forbs. Lautaro Martinez equalized before halftime with a composed finish. The pivotal moment came when a misunderstanding between Inter goalkeeper Josep Martínez and his defense allowed Forbs to knock the ball through the keeper's legs, enabling Tresoldi to tap in for 2-1. Tresoldi completed his hat-trick in the 74th minute to extend Brugge's lead to 3-1.

Inter mounted a comeback, with Martínez scoring his second in the 81st minute. Romeo Vermant restored Brugge's two-goal cushion at 4-2 in the 87th minute. Ange-Yoan Bonny pulled one back deep into added time, but Brugge held firm for the win. Tresoldi later described the night as "pazzesca" (mad), reflecting on the significance of scoring a hat-trick at San Siro with family and friends in attendance. He noted that Milan fans had encouraged him before the match, adding that he considered the fixture a personal derby given his Italian heritage and international connections.
