Barcelona references Galatasaray's 'Welcome to Hell' slogan ahead of Champions League clash

FC Barcelona posted a video on social media showing the route to Galatasaray's stadium in Istanbul, captioning it "Cehenneme Giden Yol" (The Road to Hell)—a direct reference to Galatasaray's famous "Cehenneme Hoş Geldiniz" (Welcome to Hell) slogan. The post generated significant engagement ahead of their Champions League Match Day 2 encounter on October 14, 2026.

The match will be played at RAMS Park in Istanbul, with kick-off at 22:00 local time (10:00 PM Turkey), and will be broadcast on TRT 1 in Turkey and various international channels including Paramount+ in North America and Amazon Prime in the UK. Barcelona enters the fixture undefeated in the 2026-27 season with eight consecutive wins in LaLiga and a 5-1 victory over Feyenoord in their Champions League opener. They are currently third in the league phase standings with three points.

Galatasaray, meanwhile, suffered a 3-1 loss to Sporting CP in their opening Champions League match and will be seeking their first continental points this season. The Turkish club holds a home record of four wins in their last ten Champions League matches at RAMS Park. Barcelona will be without key attacking player Raphinha due to injury, while Galatasaray has midfielder İlkay Gündoğan available—who spent the 2023-24 season at Barcelona. Notably, Galatasaray's only historical victory over Barcelona came in November 1994, when Okan Buruk, now Galatasaray's coach, came off the bench to help secure a 2-1 comeback win.

The stadium atmosphere is expected to be intense, with Spanish media outlets emphasizing the challenge Barcelona faces in the hostile environment. Coach Hansi Flick's Barcelona side has won their last three away matches against Galatasaray and are attempting their tenth consecutive victory across all competitions.
