Drone strike on Trubchevsk injures 12, including nine students

A drone attack on Trubchevsk in Russia's Bryansk Region on September 30 injured 12 people, including nine students, according to acting governor Yegor Kovalchuk. One student was reported in serious condition; the others sustained shrapnel and blast-related injuries. All injured were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Maria Lvova-Belova, the Russian presidential commissioner for children's rights, confirmed that students from Trubchevsk Polytechnic College were among the wounded, with seven identified as minors. Kovalchuk described the attack as "horrific" and targeting civilians, though he did not provide additional operational details.

The regional prosecutor's office, led by acting prosecutor Maxim Makoveyev, is overseeing assistance to the injured and coordinating with relevant agencies to ensure medical and other support. Ukraine has not publicly commented on the strike. On the same date, Kovalchuk reported that regional air defenses had intercepted 83 drones over the previous 24 hours. Russia's Defence Ministry separately reported shooting down 384 Ukrainian drones across multiple western and southern regions overnight into September 30.
