Quick Facts
- Arsenal signed Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge
- Tzolis joins on a long-term contract

- Tzolis named Belgian Pro League Player of the Season in consecutive years

Arsenal have completed the signing of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge on a long-term contract, with the fee reported as £34 million—a record transfer for the Belgian Pro League. The 24-year-old Greek international joins as a direct replacement for Leandro Trossard, who departed to Besiktas earlier in July for £17 million.
Tzolis arrives at the Premier League champions following an outstanding two seasons in Belgium. Across 108 appearances for Club Brugge, he scored 43 goals and provided 45 assists. In the 2025–26 league season alone, he scored 17 goals and contributed 23 assists in 36 appearances, earning Belgian Pro League Player of the Season in consecutive years. He also helped Brugge win the Belgian Cup in 2025 and the league title in the 2025–26 campaign.
The left winger began his professional career at Greek club PAOK Thessaloniki, where he scored 20 goals in 27 youth appearances and made his senior debut in June 2020. He joined Norwich City in 2021, making an immediate impact with two goals and two assists on his Carabao Cup debut against Bournemouth. He made 30 Premier League appearances for Norwich between 2021 and 2024, scoring three goals, before loan spells at FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf aided his development.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta praised Tzolis's versatility: "Christos naturally operates on the left but is comfortable across the front line. He's an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability." Tzolis has been assigned the number 17 shirt and has already begun pre-season training. He has earned 34 caps for the Greece national team since making his senior debut in October 2020.
The signing comes after Arsenal identified Morgan Rogers as their primary attacking target; however, the England international instead joined Chelsea in a British record £117 million transfer. Tzolis's profile mirrors that of Trossard in several aspects: positional versatility, a strong injury record, and an intense, competitive mentality.
Why This Matters
Arsenal has completed a £34 million acquisition to replace Leandro Trossard (departed to Besiktas), addressing an immediate squad gap in the attacking line. Tzolis's addition affects Arsenal's squad depth and tactical flexibility for the 2025–26 Premier League season; the transfer also establishes a new Belgian Pro League record for outgoing player value, signaling high-profile movement in European football markets.
